The Shakopee Creek Sub-basin is a priority area of the Chippewa River Watershed due to elevated levels of sediment, nutrients and bacteria and its significant share of the pollutant load. The 197,000 acre sub-basin is over 80% agriculture but inlcude the poplure chain of lakes: West Norway, Norway, Games Andrew and Florida along the popular Sibley State Park.

Between 2001 and 2011,
$311,874 has been spent on
131 water quality projects and benefitted 211 landowners.
