The Shakopee Creek Headwaters Watershed, the first identified priority area of the Chippewa River Watershed due to elevated levels of sediment, nutrients and bacteria, has received grants to help implement Best Management Practices (BMPs) on the landscape, promote educational activities and continue the water quality monitoring and assessment.  The most current grants include the CWP Continuation Grant that provides support in the headwaters area and the Greater Shakopee Creek 319 Grant that addresses issues in the entire sub-basin.
