The Lower Mainstem Chippewa River sub-basin is in the Continuation Phase having completed the first grant in September 2007. Cost-share and incentive payments are targeted towards buffer strips, alternative tile intakes, nutrient management plans, feedlot and livestock projects, gully erosion correction, and other special projects that landowners use that will improve water quality in the Lower Mainstem.
